If you don’t feel like reading through the whole thing I got you covered. You can just watch my latest YouTube video. 👇
🔎 Discovering What Sets Top Social Media Managers Apart
I decided to explore the habits of successful social media managers and what sets them apart from the rest of us who might be struggling to gain traction online.
🤔 Why Some Flourish and Others Falter
I’ve been in the social media game for over 10 years now and through all this time I failed, I tried new things, I failed again, I tried new things, and eventually I got good at it. So, I decided it was time to share a few tips on what I learned about being a social media manager and how I make things work. Or, how I sometimes make things work. It’s not an exact science but we do have a lot of info out there to help us do our jobs right.
For those of you struggling to even get a single like, this is for you.
🎬 Creating a YouTube Video on Successful Social Media Management
This video combines satire, irony, comedy, but also a list of insights I’ve been gathering throughout the years. So, don’t go canceling me… Some of those things are irony! Don’t like it? Push the button. Or, you can go down until the end of this newsletter and learn something. Or not. I don’t make assumptions.
Here are the 10 habits of successful social media managers:
Successful social media managers plan ahead
Stay up-to-date with trends
Engage with their audience
Use data to inform decisions
Prioritize quality over quantity
Collaborate with others
Adapt to change
Are proactive
Prioritize mental health
Never stop learning
⚒️ Useful tools and tips
Consider using tools like social media scheduling platforms to plan ahead. Tools like Swonkie.
Use analytics tools to inform your decisions. Whether it’s directly from Meta or other social platform analytics, or even a tool like Swonkie or Google Analytics.
Engage with your audience regularly. It’s easier for you if you also use a community management tool like Swonkie or Agorapulse.
This is more of a piece of advice, but it’s an important one. Always prioritize mental health by taking breaks and disconnecting from the online world.
PS: This moment was not sponsored by Swonkie but I kind of wish it was. They’re a Portuguese startup focused on building a customer-tailored all-in-one social media management app. Shoutout to “ma boy” João Cortinhas and his crew.
